Dana Lamb

DanaLamb_troutstream_bookDana S. Lamb (1899-1986) was a New York City investment banker, avid angler and gifted writer.  Lamb was best known for his fishing adventures in the northeastern U.S. and Atlantic Canada.  He particularly loved fly fishing for Atlantic salmon.  Lamb was a wealthy man who was involved in several fish and game clubs, and donated the proceeds of his books toward community and conservation efforts.  Though sometimes hard to find, Lamb’s books are highly sought after and enjoyed by a dedicated group of outdoor book enthusiasts.

I knew Dana when I was a boy we met at the start of the Theodore Gordon Fly Fishers organizational meeting. I was in my early teens and he was in his mid 60’s He like Sparse were wonderful old guys who loved sharing knowledge with this young kid.

I have five of his books which I recently sent to my son. He had read them before and wants to read again and then introduce to his children. Wonderful reads.
