John Madson (1923-1995) was an outdoor writer and naturalist from the midwest. To many, Madson is considered the father of the modern day prairie restoration movement. He wrote outdoor articles on his observations of nature, hunting, fishing and general wildlife pieces for many major magazines and papers.
Madson was a very hard working and talented writer, with a unique ability to make keen observations of wildlife and natural history. Ever the effective communicator and conservationist, Madson’s vision lives on in his writing, which is admired by many today.
